Studies

This page lists courses relevant to the Synthetic Biology major. First the differences between the Bio- and environmental engineering program in YKI and Bioner are shown. Then there are reviews on various courses (link to the review form here). At the end there are experiences from exchange studies by synthetic biology students. Major courses refer to the following programs: Synthetic biology and industrial biotechnology (Master's) and Bio- and environmental engineering (Bachelor's).

Optional courses

Protein Technology Laboratory, BBT.MB.610

A two-week intensive course in May. A very good addition to the lab course in the major. More focused on the analysis phase, used methods include IMAC, SEC, MP, SDS-PAGE, DSF and DLS.

Processing of Biosignals, BBT.HTI.501

If you are more interested on the computational side, this is a very fun course. The topics are mostly about the heart and other human bodily processes, but you'll learn to use Matlab quite well.
