In order for Sekvenssi to remain strong and serve its members best, we hope that as many people as possible will apply to the Sekvenssi board for the 2024 term.

The options are Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and 3-5 other board members. When the board is organized, it will determine the more specific tasks of the board members among themselves. The wishes of the board members will be respected in the distribution of tasks. This procedure is based on Sekvenssi's rules and aims to better serve the board members' own interests than procedures in which the positions are determined by the board's founder or the club meeting.

To serve on the board, you do not need previous experience in the position in question or in board operations more generally. The previous year's board members will provide all the necessary orientation for the task.

Introductions of current board members can be found on the club's Instagram account. Board members can be contacted at a low threshold to ask more about a specific position. If you have any general questions about the board application, you can contact the undersigned. Here are descriptions of this year's positions:

CURRENT BOARD FOR THE TERM 2022-2023

Chair

The club's Chair represents the club and acts as the chairperson at board meetings. They ensure that the club's operations run smoothly and that work is done in each board sector.

Secretary

The secretary is responsible for documenting the discussions and decisions of board meetings. At meetings, the secretary draws up the minutes of the meeting and submits them for review by other board members.

Treasurer

The treasurer is responsible for the club's finances and financial matters, such as budgeting and paying various expenses. They also write funding applications and take care of membership fees.

Vice Chair

The Vice Chair chairs board meetings if the actual chair is unable to attend. The Vice Chair also often helps where needed, such as organizing events.

Corporate Cooperation Responsible

The Corporate Cooperation Responsible acts as a link between the club and companies in the field. They are in contact with companies regarding various company presentations, excursions and other cooperation.

Excursion Responsible

The duties of the Excursion Responsible include organizing various company and laboratory visits for the club's members. As with corporate cooperation, they are actively in contact with companies in the field and survey various visit opportunities.

Communications Responsible

The Communications Responsible's job is to ensure that information is flowing. They compile various newsletters, manage email lists and help ensure the club's visibility on social media, for example.

OFFICERS 2022-2023

Study Officer

The study officer helps promote studies in the field by listening to the needs and views of the members. They organize various study-themed activities for the club, such as study coffees between the members and teachers.

Business Cooperation Officer

The Business Cooperation Officer assists the Business Cooperation Responsible and is also in contact with companies in the field regarding various company presentations, excursions, sponsors and job advertisements.

Event Responsible

The Event Responsible organizes fun and meaningful activities for the club's members with other board members. During the first term of operation, Sekvenssi has organized, for example, a pre-Christmas party and the unveiling of the overalls badge, and participated in club coffees with Flokki and Exergia.

Web Officer

The Web Officer takes care of the overall appearance of the club's website and updates the pages as needed.

General Officer

The General Officer helps where needed. For example, they can assist in organizing events or represent the club at various annual celebrations.
